CyberSafe is a Gold Sponsor of PORTO CYBER SECURITY CONFERENCE 2017. This event is scheduled on the 17th May 2017 and will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Porto, Portugal.

Companies and organizations worldwide are facing advanced cyber threats by all types of adversaries. This year´s conference will gather CEOs, CIOs, IT Directors, CISOs and other security profiles from large organizations and companies. A full day conference to discuss case studies, best practices, and to hear from the world’s leading solution providers about innovative ways to prevent/mitigate advanced cyber threats targeting their organizations.

CyberSafe’s session is named “Building your SOC or Outsourcing to a Managed Security Services Provider?” and will be presented by Dinis Fernandes, Executive Manager, CyberSafe.

Most organizations realize they need to address security operations in a structured way, by means of having a Security Operations Center (SOC) that can effectively be the organization’s operational defense against cyberattacks. However, it is not easy to decide what path to follow: build your own SOC, outsource the SOC to a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) or use a hybrid SOC model. CyberSafe’s session focus on the advantages and disadvantages of these alternative approaches, providing real examples from the market.

Main CyberSafe vendor partners, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Security and FireEye will present in this conference too. CyberSafe is currently a HPE Security Gold Partner and a FireEye Silver Partner.

CyberSafe, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Security, Swivel Secure and SPS Advogados organized an event about the new European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), hosted in Pousada de Lisboa, Portugal.

The new European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has an enforcement date of 25 May 2018. Failure to comply with these provisions imposes fines of up to EUR 20 million or 4% of annual turnover in the event of failure. GDPR represents a huge challenge and will require organizations to implement new mechanisms for managing and protecting their customers’ data, such as new procedures or new solutions.

The objective of this event named “Winning the GDPR Challenge” is to give an overview of the GDPR and its requirements and obligations by organizations, show how to start in defining a strategy, give an overview of some solutions that help addressing this challenge and particularize some of them with the testimony of some of CyberSafe clients: Credibom (a bank part of the Crédit Agrícole group) and Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda (a government institution that issues national ID cards and passports, bank cards, manufactures coins and publishes several official documents).

In this event, Dr. Sara Henriques Partner of SPS Advogados showed what legal requirements organizations must adhere to. Dinis Fernandes, Executive Manager of CyberSafe pointed the path where organizations can start: a GDPR Assessment guided by CyberSafe consultants and/or the complete GDPR Program consultancy engagement. CyberSafe showed also a top-level vision of the main solutions that might help prepare for GDPR. Jesus Prieto, Solutions Architect of HPE Security showed how HPE Data Security solutions can provide breach neutralization by Encryption and Pseudonymisation to ensure sensitive customer and employee data is protected. Pedro Cunha, CISO, Banco Credibom presented the case study: Multifactor Authentication: Identification, tracking and protection on information accesses.

On the second half of this event Ana Marques from Swivel Secure presented how Swivel Secure Multifactor Authentication and Adaptive Authentication can be used for Breach Prevention: Use multi-factor authentication to protect users’ credentials and the data they access. Breach Prevention: Detect and correct vulnerabilities on applications was presented by Alvaro Fernandez, HPE Security Sales Specialist. Jorge Sousa, head of Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda Infrastructure and Security showed how INCM uses SecureMail to address email privacy. And finally, Nelson Silva, CyberSafe’s Technical Manager showed how to use a SOC to identify a security breach in a timely fashion, and how to respond to it.

This event was completely full and counted with more than 60 participants from several vertical sectors, as banking, insurance, government, health and social care, telco, pharmaceutical, defense, transportation and manufacturing.
